  1. Recently, I just participated in the Districts Tournament for Forensics. I was in Duo Interpretation with Frank Spingler. We performed a piece called, "Catch Me If You Can." In this, I played the one of 8 characters. Frank was the basically the narrator for his life story.

We automatically qualified for state, because there was only one other team in the category. In the end, we lost because of little hiccups here and there. Also, our confidence was shaken because of the type of piece they had. Their piece basically included God and a terminally ill child. Although, to our surprise, we beat them in the first round.

Now, we just have to work on perfecting the piece and our transitions. Our transitions are noticeably better. It was just the fact that we began to lose more and more confidence in ourselves. This will be fixed, and we will prevail.

  2. I participated in the district competition at White House. I competed in poetry, using the same piece I took to three other competitions. I've broken twice with this piece, and I've decided to take it as far as it will let me.

I broke into finals and ended up getting first place, making me first in the entire district in poetry. I was one of the few people that had to go through finals, so it made it a little more nerve wracking than usual, but my nerves calmed the more I performed.

Now, I will continue to work with this piece as much as I possibly can with as much free time as I can take up. I will be at my absolute best, and nothing is going to get in my way. I will be coming for a much bigger trophy.

  4. So Mikey and I did catch me if you can. We really hit the ground running with this piece but then when we had to work on lip syncs we slowed down about 1,000 percent. This is really my fault being a degenerate and such but I really enjoyed working with Mikey and being able to go to state with a piece and a partner that are really good.
The next month will be spent with getting our performance polished to a T. I want everything to be smooth and crisp and emotional.
I will accomplish this by being a better more attentive teammate.
