Planning is important in any type of situation, whether it is at home, at your job, or any extracurricular activities. Making a plan means that you prepare for everything that included in that area, be it accidents, mishandling, or extra work. In this case, it is and was very important to plan for building a intricate set such as the one for "Play On!" Which included making the stage seem smaller with a set, then building another set on top of it, then adding movable pieces that coincided with the plot of the play. Proper planning is obviously necessary when doing a project like that. Without the proper planning, something that could easily be solved can turn into utter chaos.
I have seen and learned, as a student enrolled in Theater 2 that sometimes, less people are key to getting a project done, especially when there aren't that many tools, people can get in the way. Also , hearing feedback of things that happen backstage, a manager should always have copies of what should be going on backstage , so if something happens to them, then the show can move along smoothly without hysteria.
This will be useful in my life as a member of Synergy Studio and also in my personal life as sometimes I forget things, and things can always go wrong and cause chaos on my life. Planning is key, whether for a specific play or to plan that dentist appointment.
In closing, planning is good for yourself and everyone around you.
I agree you have to plan for any mishaps. you never know what will happen do you have to take that into consideration. If you don't someone can get hurt.
The importance of planning in theatre is as important of the quality of acting. It actually ties in with that because Planning is the difference between a bad play, a good one, or a great one. I am certain that if we have the blueprints for the set on the 13th we will have a fully built set by the 20th.
In planning we can't just prepare for the best possible outcome. With training in any and every situation. With proper planning people wont be so freaked out during show night.
Furthermore I firmly believe that working together is a large part of production. We need to be able to get along with each other because arguing hinders our production which in turn destroys the potential we have to make a great play
I think teamwork and planning connect because if you mutually agree on a plan with the rest of the team, everyone is more likely to follow it because they agree with it.
Planning is important to do in any scenario. Planning provides an outline for what you want your end product to be. An outline allows you to see the over all plan of your project. It is similar to a check list of a rough draft. You are able to improve your plan.
If you do not plan that can allow mishaps to happen. You can put not only you but the safety of others at risk. Planning allows you to limit certain types of dangers. It also allows you to see what you would need so you can see if those resources are available to you. If you do not have those resources you can change your plan accordingly.
Planning is an important step for anything to be successful. you can apply this to the future and what you want to do. the key is to plan that way everything can run as smooth as possibly. If you do not plan you can run into bumps along the way that can prevent work from being done.
I completely agree with the fact that you must plan in order to be successful and safe. Without planning, problems will occur. So in the future we must always plan and think ahead.
I agree with you about planning for the mistakes as well as the victories. Anyone needs to be able to focus and flourish under pressure and it makes it easier if you already have a plan layed out for every possible outcome
Planning is really important in set building. In order to have a set on time and suit for your needs, it must be mapped out perfectly. Play on's set was had multiple components in it including big wally and other walls that needed to be put together. Before it could even put together you have to measure everything to make sure they fit. Also had to make sure it gave the desirable affect.
In Theater two I've seen and learned multiple things that are useful. For example, learning how to use the drill allows me to work on other sets and put them together. I also learned how to use the light board so in the future I can do the lights for a show if need be. Overall, I've learned many things that will allow me to further my abilities in Theater.
In the Future of Theatre I hope to use my abilities, that include using the drill and the light board, to help bring plays to life.
Planning on time was something I haven't considered, and think it is an entirely valid and useful point. If time is properly accounted for, we could starting a set way later than we should, which results in rushing, and can even invalidate proper planning for the set itself, simply to compensate for our lack of time. Ultimately, planning for time is something we need to do as a Theater to ensure that things are built carefully and correctly, even allowing for time to correct mistakes.
Planning is important for everyday life it's always nice to be prepared for the best and worse of everything. So planning before you try to do anything is important. It's also nice if you have a backup plan in case anything changes the plans. Planning is important so you can be prepared for anything that's coming your way.
Planning on how to make a set can make things a lot easier. You need to know where you’re gonna out the set, how it’s going to look, and how the actors can work around it safely. Planning can remove some of the worry of when it’s going to get done.
Planning when making a set like in PLAY ON! makes it less stressful and you can get a lot of other stuff done other than just worrying about the set getting done. Knowing that planning can organize everything going on is very important in these types of situations.
Now that i know how to plan I can know what is going on and what i need to do without asking someone. Know how to plan i can now try to help Jam and coach with planning on what to build next.
Planning is essential to to getting anything done correctly and within reasonable time, especially when it comes to a team. Without a plan, teams can not work together properly. There would be a lot of confusion because one part of the team would be working one way to get a job done while the other part of the team would be working differently. Having a plan ensures that the whole team knows the goal and how they are supposed to work to reach it.
Planning is very important in set building and set striking. When everyone in the class knows their part and does it, we get done quickly. On the other hand, if we do not have it planned out we move more slowly because we aren't really sure what to do.
I have seen the good outcomes of planning and the bad outcomes of not following a plan. I have also learned to work with and tolerate people that I do not always want to work with. I can use this in the future because most jobs require working with your coworkers as a team.
Planning is important in general, but especially so when building a dynamic set for a play. The set is going to have to be able to change and adapt for different scenes, and will depend on being structurally sound before, during, and after a change. It sort of relies on itself, and planning will make sure that changes are accounted for when building the initial version of the set.
From my experience backstage, and even just viewing "Play On!" and "Noises Off", I have gathered some knowledge to help me understand dynamic stages. In "Play On!" there were walls that had movable bars connecting them to other walls. This was so that they could be easily and quickly moved for a set change, to create the illusion of a smaller, shoddier set. With or without these outermost walls, there was a set, but what was extremely important was the innermost walls. They held the set up, and acted as a set of there own when the outermost walls were removed. Planning for the effect of one wall on the other was important, especially given how late and impulsive stage building can be.
I feel like my understanding is rather well developed, but I still want to learn more and refine my abilities so that I can contribute to the next set. It is important that we plan, but even more so that we share ideas and plan together.
Planning is essential when making a play. Without plans there is no way that a play will run relatively smoothly. What I've learned is that having a plan makes the stress and anxiety that a play creates lesson significantly. Having a plan helps when things go wrong and you have a way to get back on track.
So, when in need of a plan make sure to have one. Plans are essential for a play to be efficient. Make sure plans are correctly made and posted for anyone who needs to see it.
Now, always make sure a plan is made for any important performance. Always have all that is needed to happen on the plan and make sure that everyone understands and knows where it is located.
Planning is so important when it comes to anything, but especially theatre. You need to make sure that you create lists and get things ready before it's necessary. Knowing what you're doing before you do it is very, very important.
Preparing and planning is important not just so things are easier on yourself, but also so you can pass things on to others and share information to help others grow and get things done.
As I'm prop managing for A Christmas Story, I've made sure to make a prop list that is digital and can be shared with others if I am not capable of making it to a rehearsal. I've additionally already started making the prop list to make sure that I do not fall behind.
I agree that planning is not only good for helping yourself, but others as well. Even if you know what you are doing, others should have access to it so no others will do your job twice, or so you can point them in the right direction for assisting you, so things can get done faster. I hope we can work together and plan during A Christmas Story.
Planning is important because just like anybody else we're human and things can easily be forgotten. Also, its important to be prepared with a list so things can be done the right way, so thoroughfare, for a play like play on things can be more in order with no chaos.
For the future I've learned that having others in mind is a big thing especially in the theatre when planning a list, taking turns using tools, or something as simple as screwing in a screw. Also, another useful thing for the future is listening to directions and to act at it fast. Last but not least, practice makes perfect and, know your strength.
These notes are good for the future because having others in mind it makes the whole station simpler, as a result others know whats going on and have order.Listening is something we all have to do in order to know how to do something with no unnecessary questions. Its common sense to practice something if you know you have trouble with. This could help to be caught up in the future. Not knowing your strength could put you or others in danger, so finding your strength is important for the future so things can go more smoother and faster.
Planning is an important asset, perhaps even the most important one, of any project needing to be finished. Creating the foundation and steps toward reaching a goal is essential, because without doing so you may not know where to start, where to go next, or what to do when you face a problem. When everything is written and laid out for the plan of something, it can be completed quickly, because everybody knows what needs to be done next. Otherwise, nobody will know what to do, or who is doing what, and so on.
One of the things I have learned from building a set like PLAY ON! is that even when time is of essence, not to rush or get worked up. In class periods where lots of things had to be completed, I found myself stressing and rushing as well as getting worked up. A lot of others were starting to get the same way too, which does not help productivity. I learned that as long as we follow our planning, and work to finish at our own pace (however, not to dawdle one bit) things can get done much quicker than if you start freaking out. Returning to your training and focusing on getting it done is important.
With the things I have learned in building a set and using planning techniques, this can help me in just about any situation in the future. It doesn't have to be for theater productions, it can fit for any other large scale project, or even simple ones. Planning is a necessity in the design process, and so is pacing yourself and not getting worked up. These skills are all useful in the future.
Planning is important because it keeps things organized. Without planning, it would be caos and no one would know what's going on. Everyone knows whats needs to be done and it just really helps things go smoothly.
What I have learned from planning is that it is essential especially when building a set for a play because we have only a certain amount of time. There's no time to not know what is going on and what needs to be done. Everyone has a part to play.
This is good to know for the future because every job has planning. You need to know planning and how to execute it correctly if you want to keep your job.
I agree with you when you say without planning their will be chaos. When we don't plan alot of things tend to go wrong. We need to make sure we plan for everything.
Planning is important when building a dynamic set in many different ways. It is important to plan because you have to know ahead of time where everything is gonna go and you have to know when it needs to be there. It is also important to plan because you have to be able to fix a problem if something doesn't go right with the set.
Learning the importance of planning taught me that if I plan ahead, I don't have to rush when I'm trying to do something. Also it taught me to basically expect the unexpected so i can fix whatever issue that may occur.
This skill is good for the future because it can contribute to me being more organized.
Planning is the beginning of anything and everything that's how everything gets started. It's important that's how you can stay focused and organized.Planning is like steps so if there is any type of mishap you at least have can see where you messed up at.
When We were building the set planning helped ALOT. ALOT was going on and needed to be done so that the play could look and be done properly. So if anything had messed up we had known what to do to fix it. Like when one of the supports had fell we saw the problem and fixed it.
One thing to get out of this is to plan.Know where your going. What the point is so that if there's an issue you can fix it.
Planning is important in any situation and it helps get things organized. Planning is like steps you have to follow so you don't miss anything you need.
What i have learned from planning is that it has helped me a lot and when i would mess up, i would go back to my notes that i had and make sure i would gets things right the second time.
When we were planning the set and how to build it, that was helping alot cause it was giving me a better understanding of how things should be and how they should be understood.
Planning is important with building sets because it helps you stay organized and helps the actors practice. I also think that planning is important in set building is so you can set yourself goals and standards. Organization is a big part in set building because you have to make sure that you have all of the materials that you need that way you can build that set. The actors use the set by standing and making sure that they know where everything else is. Goals and standards are also important because you have to make sure that you know where you need to be after the day.
What learned throughout planning is that you have a place to be and that you need to make sure that you at least work on something . I have also learned through planning is that you have to make sure that you have all of the correct measurements and the correct supplies to build that set.
When ever we are planning what the set should look like and what goes where we start to get a better understanding on what they set would look like.
Planning is very important. Anythig we ever do in life has t be planned. When you plan things tend to turn out better looking and more organized then when you don't plan and organize things. When you plan its eaiser to tell when something goes wrong and how it goes wrong.
What I learned throught planning is plans change. Nothing ever stays the same. I learned when you plan things out step by step its eaiser to find out where smething went wrong. I also learned that planning things out tends to take up less time.
In the futer I will try to plan things out a little better. I will listen to what peoples plans are.
"Failing to plan is planning to fail." This quote fits perfectly with this discussion. the importance of planning ties into everything that has to do with production. It's common sense that if you go about anything without any sort of plan it's most likely to fail or not turn out the way you intend.
At least nine weeks we've been taught blueprinting, how to work the tools, and to build. We're equipped with things we need to succeed when creating a production. We have rules and regulations that we go by in the theater. These rules were planned to be set so that the theater itself can be successful.
But he's the foundation to success. If you plan ahead for set building with blueprints, measurements, Etc. Not only will this set be successful in the end but the progress of getting the set done also will be. So if we take these things into accountability and learn to plan we won't fail.

But he's the foundation to success. If you plan ahead for set building with blueprints, measurements, Etc. Not only will this set be successful in the end but the progress of getting the set done also will be. So if we take these things into accountability and learn to plan we won't fail.
