With the Lip Sync show a week away, A) what do you see as the biggest challenge ahead for your group?
B) How can this challenge be overcome?
C) What can you do to help the group improve?

  1. The biggest challenge for my group is now trying to have emotion and smooth transitions in the group. I was sick and out of school so I could not direct the Purple Rain piece. However, when I was there when they were running the piece I noticed some awkwardness that never got addressed.

This challenge can be overcome by directing what needs to be done. For example, there is a problem with backs towards the audience or not coming on for the cues. I also hope that we can have a rehearsal with everyone in the group rather than having replacements.

I defiantly need to be there and be a leader for my group. I worked hard on the concept and I know that there are some members working hard to convey the story. This is the week where every small detail will be looked at and adjusted.

  2. Lip Syncs are only a week away, and everyone is feeling the stress. I think the biggest challenge for my group will most definitely be not losing sight of things and trying hard to remain calm.

This can be overcome with practicing more and more and realizing that everything will be alright once we've got it all down, and that we're close to getting this all over with. We'll also be a lot less stressed once we realize that the other people in our sketch that we use from Freefallin' will be able to dance the way we need them to.

To help the group improve, I can come up with very specific dances for the people to do. Once this is out of the way, the sketch will be completely perfected.

    1. I agree with the whole stress aspect. Not to mention that there are so many moving pieces in the show. I believe that everything will work out on the end.

  4. Lipsyncs is now literally 3 days away and everyone is freaking out. The biggest challenge I see for my group, Let's Dance, is trying hard to stay calm and work out the small kinks that we have right now.

This challenge can be easily overcome with more practice which we will be doing after school. Right now we have the main premise worked out, but the subtleties which will make the show look great still need a little help. These includes specific dance moves, mic placements, etc.

I can help by choreographing 80's and modern dances and keeping everyone in my group calm and collected.

  5. A major challenge is Seven spanish angles looks horrible. No one really knows there part. No one really wants to show up for rehearsal and learn there part. There is also no team work.

This challenge can be over come if people work together. If we put our heads together and actually focus we can make it look better. If people show up to rehersal we would be good.

I can help by showing people there part. I can also help by getting thinks ready and in the right spots. I can also help by making sure people know about rehaersals.

  6. Lip Syncs are nearly here, and we are still struggling to get our skit to be even stage-worthy. Many group members are feeling the stress, including myself. The biggest challenge our group is currently facing is mostly choreography and the dances in our song. We are constantly missing team members, or simply low on time to teach our current members the steps we have. We are nearly a week's worth behind with several of our new group members, and we are lacking severely on time.

The challenge we face, even though it may seem unsurmountable, can perhaps be overcome with enough practice and motivation. All I need is time with my group members, and for them to all be together and all perform together. I feel like once we all do our sketch together and work on it, not just in parts, we can seem stage-worthy. This is still a huge issue however, as many of our group members have other things to do.

One thing I can do to help my group is to really work with the ones struggling in my group on the dances, and really show them what we are doing, so there is no confusion. I also need to really embody David Bowie if I want to keep the tone of my skit. Perhaps the audience can look past all the other issues if I can be a charismatic enough Bowie.
