  2. This year as a senior I thrive to be more involved in the school. In doing so I will be in more plays, work on my college applications, becoming a leader, and having fun. I have decided to run for Homecoming Queen this year, because in the future I want to look back at all the things I was capable of.

Besides "Scrooge and Molly", I have not been in a play without it being a requirement. I chose to continue the path with Theatre IV, and I plan on broadening my acting abilities. By expanding my character personas, instead of being myself. As seniors people will be looking to us for guidance and answers. I can no longer be a follower, we as leaders need to be able to lead our generation into the future. Theatre will give me a few opportunities to become the leader I want to be. Before I know it we will be graduating, and I do not want to be that person who does not know what to do after high school. Even if it means community college. This is the time to start thinking about what I want to do long term, and actually do something to accomplish it. I have had a few colleges reach out to me, and it was getting overwhelming. Smarts has nothing to do with it, it's the fear of leaving everything I thought I knew behind.

A lot will be going on senior year, so we all need to make sure to put some time into doing something outside of school. If I do not the stress will overpower me. It sometimes feels too real, like I can not believe this is actually happening. I spent my first year in the background, my second on a blank stage, this year I will be in the spotlight.

  3. Throughout this year there are many things that I wish to improve on. One thing I would really like to improve on in my characterization. I just really want to be able to feel very comfortable in my character. Along with this is I would also like to work on raising my voice, but also staying in character or keeping a accent. Basically I just really want to focus on how I present my character and being able to play any character naturally.

I feel like characterization is always the most difficult part of acting. It's definitely very fun to get to pick the type of person you want to portray your character as, but at times I feel like I don't put in 100% into my character. I also sometimes feel just not comfortable in my character so that makes me more self conscious while acting. It's important though for me to feel confident while acting so I can give my best performance.

This year I hope to just mainly try different methods to be able to become my character more. I've been working on trying out different accents and mannerisms. I also plan to try to watch different things like movies and etc that can help me become more like my character. Along with this I also would also like to mainly work on projected my voice and feeling more comfortable on stage. With each time performing I feel closer and closer to completing these goals.

  4. I want to become educated and develop professional skills in theater. I want the ability to bring in a broader perspective into whatever career field I end up working in. I want to learn about various aspects of Theater. I would like to focus on the acting aspect, but still be able to bring in a diverse knowledge of it.

I want to gain oral communication skills, and to be more confidence as well. To be more brave with talking in front of a class, or an audience. To come up with an ice breaker to talk to a complete stranger. It'd be a great skill to have later in life. I would like to gain cultural knowledge of Theater. When I travel I want to know and learn more about different parts of the worlds theater. I want to be able to project better through my diaphragm and to enunciate. I wish to be better with improvisation. Improv can
assist me in the future with job interviews and conversations.

I hope to learn more time management skills. In Theater one has many time limits for auditions, deadlines for plays and monologues. Monologues that have to be a determined amount of time. Having lines memorized by a specific date for whenever a play starts. This all helps in the career world as well because you have due dates for the tasks you need to complete.

I would also love to be the opposite from myself when playing a character. To feel more comfortable and able to play whatever character is hand to me.

  5. With it being my senior year, there's so much to learn and experience in such little time. From looking at colleges to preparing for life in general, whether I like it or not time stops for no one and adulthood is approaching. One skill I hope to improve on during my time in Theatre 4 is time management. Another skill I hope to gain would be branching out in the theatre department. I want to take a break from acting, although I love it I want to see if there's something else I could potentially find the same amount of joy in.

With that being said this year calls for tough decisions. Tough decisions fits into the category of time management. Time is a precious thing often taken for granted, for example my last four years of high school. Many people, including myself, take this time for granted I thought that its four years that's plenty of time to prepare for after high school. Yet here I find myself stressing over applications and scholarships because procrastinated all those years ago. I'm hoping that my time in Theatre 4, with all the assignments and performances coming up, that I will be able to manage my time wisely and ease my stress.

Though I wish to continue bettering myself in acting I believe its time for me to try something else. When i attend college next fall and begin my major in the theatre arts I want to be a well rounded student. I want to be able to have a little knowledge on all areas of the department. Taking on the challenge of tech in the fall play is something I'm looking forward to.

In order to accomplish both of my goals I will strive to learn everything I need to in tech in a timely manner to make our fall play "Play On" successful.

  6. Its senior year already and I honestly can not believe it. It seems like just yesterday I had walked into the high school as a freshman. This year is going to be full of challenges with the military, theater, AP classes, and just getting ready to move on with life and figuring out what steps are next. My one goal in theater really is to figure out all the ins and outs to a show such as acting, directing, lighting, and crewing. I enjoy theater and I have for a while so I want to continue to do something I like.

I want to learn all the skills so when I do go into theater in college I will be prepared and have knowledge in every way. I need to improve my acting not only to be a better actress, but to make my confidence higher and open myself up. The lighting is an important skill to always have so I could program lights and have that skill before I am clueless in college. Directing teaches you a lesson in leadership and communication. I also can not wait to competitions I loved acting and doing poetry against other school and getting feedback on how to get better.

Now I am going to try my best to juggle my responsibilities in theater and school and life so i can reach my goals. I will also be practicing a lot more for competition and when Im acting I am going to put a lot more passion into it. I can not wait for this fall play and many more to come. I am ready t end this last year with a bang

  7. This is my last year in Theatre at West Creek High-school and I can't believe I'm finally saying that. It's been a long and crazy 4 years but each year, I was taught so many life lessons that I'll NEVER forget. So with this being my Senior year and my most Senior Experience in Theatre, I want to obtain as much as I can.

The thing I desire most to get out of this Theatre 4 experience would have to be confidence. Confidence not just when I'm on stage but in the real world as well. I want to be confident in everything I do. When it comes to schoolwork, applying for colleges, taking ACT'S, and stepping into adulthood. I want everything I do from here on out to be done with complete assurance in myself and not letting fear waiver that.

I've always been the type of person that wants to do above and beyond what I'm capable of, but fear and lack of confidence is what always held me back. Where I would just reach the bar but not surpass it. I want to push myself past what I think I can do and prove to myself I can do anything I put my mind to.

So this year I'm stepping out of my comfort zone. I'm taking Speech class and going to learn how to properly debate. I'm keeping up with schoolwork to boost my GPA higher. I'm studying my butt off so that when I take tests and I re-take my ACT, I get a higher score. I'm not limiting myself this year. I'm working to prove to myself and others that I'm not just ordinary, but that I'm Extraordinary.

  8. This year as a theatre four I'm going to strive to be more memorable and I understand that it takes time but it bothers me not to have each line memorized. I'm going to learn my mistakes so I can possibly get better role opportunities in this program. I'm also striving for perfection in characters that I receive each play. Whether a big role or small I'm wanting to do whatever I can to make each play better.

In all my years in this program I've missed a lot of good opportunities because of my grades or me just not memorizing my audition piece. And I need to make a change because I want to end my senior year in synergy studios on a good note. So for my sake in synergy studios I'm going to do what it takes to make the cut. Another thing I need to do is make friends in my theatre four class because I really don't talk to a lot of them on a regular basis and I feel it could make good chemistry for plays and plus I can gain a new friend or two. If you really pay attention in our class you can see that everyone has their own clique and then there's just me. I've been okay with that for three years in this program but I guess I need to make a change.

Now what I'm going to do to achieve my goals is to take time out and spend one hour or two a day to practice memorization skills and also talk to people in my class on a regular basis.

  9. In theater four, my main goal is achieve something that not many others have done. I want to "break" in a solo competition at a speech tournament, while also juggling the responsibilities of being in all the plays this year. At least, it's my hope that I will be in all the plays this year.

To break in a solo competition is something (I believe) to have only been done once, by Jeffrey. Whether that's true or not, I have no idea, but I want to be the second to do it (Or third, or whatever.) This is a goal I've set for myself because I believe that in the long run, it will benefit me as a person, not only in the sense of accomplishing my goal, but in the way of teaching myself how to handle multiple responsibilities, while also not letting them overcome me.

To achieve this, it will take a lot of hard work, and a lot of dedication. No more can I go home and just sleep all day, and hope that all of my work will do itself. I'll have to set small goals for myself, just to complete this one, overarching goal, and I'm going to do it.
