  1. I performed in a speech and acting piece last night. In the speech performance I did a speech in negation of legalizing marijuana.

I was very unprepared for this portion of the show. I needed to ask better questions and know more about people's speeches. I also feel as though I needed to prepare better for my own speech such as having more information and facts.

Because of these things I learned I am going to write more speeches and make sure they have more information. As well as listen to other people's speeches so I can ask questions to either help or hurt the speaker's position.

  2. Last night was intense: nerves were high and confidences was low. I had some difficulties last night with technology, which wasn't a surprise, but I pushed through as always. I was grateful that I knew my topic or I would had crashed and burned. Overall in congress, I think that everyone did pretty good although people didn't say their speech when they were supposed to and they didn't ask their questions. But those who did ask, asked very weak questions.

After congress, Febish and I had to perform our piece, "Hello Herman." I was really, really nervous when I went on. I thought that that time was better than anything thing we have done with this piece. Once I started saying my lines all the nerves went away-it was just me and Febish. After I was done with it, I got to watch the rest of them. I came in to watch during "The Accused" and I was sitting in the back. I couldn't really hear anything and Leandra's (most likely spelt her name wrong)back was towards the audience and the bowing wasn't what I thought they would have done. I expected something more than that. Actually, almost everyone were like that.

  3. I preformed hello Herman with faith and I play Herman. Thursday night spotlight helped get us ready for competition.
I think the main reason was it helped us get the jitters out of not only me but all the actors and representatives who are doing congress as well. What I mean by this is most of the people were freaking out about preforming in front of people but by going on stage and seeing how the audiences perspective on congress and acting peace's it can help them see how much they have improved and can make them more relaxed.
with tomorrow being competition I believe our school has a good chance to win and we are all looking forward to it. and lastly break a leg theater 3s, 4s, and congress.

  4. I was a part of the Congress and I also performed a Duo interp piece. Thursday night spotlight was it preparation for me to get ready for competition, by performing in front of a live adience.

Being able to do this got rid of some of the fear that I had, as well as giving me comfort and knowing what to expect. When I perform my Duo peace received good comments as well as constructive criticism. For Congress watching the other speeches it taught me to be aware of what the speaker is saying. Cuz some things speaker says is most likely not always valid.

for Congress I need to have more reliable sources to back up my statements. Also I have to try not to always give an opinionated speech. I have to provide facts. For acting portion of the competition I need to have more characterization. Doing these things will more than likely get me to break during the competition.
