  1. I performed in "No Scrubs". I was one of the lead singers and I was a defiant female.

I feel I performed well, there is definitely room to improve, of course. I could have rehearsed more, and been more proactive when it came to getting time on stage.

I also feel as though I could have figured out timing so that we had less time left. I also could have been more creative in the beginning of the process so that I could have improved and had a more compelling story.

  2. My theatre 3 sketch was come as you are but I performed in 5 sketches. I feel like I should have focused more on this sketch. I performed well but I just wasn't all in. To improve I'll work harder.

  3. Last Thursday, I performed in the Lip Sync Show. My group did, "Come As You Are", by Nirvana. My role was the drunk dad. I was basically there to create a conflict with the main character.

I feel like performed very well. I wore a messed up suit with a empty sparkling bottle as a prop. I think I performed my role good enough to create the drama that the main character needed.

I wouldn't do anything different with the piece next time. It was basic well done.

  4. I performed in Come As You Are, Weak, and Kriss Kross Jump (solo).

It wasn't until the day of the show, that we did not go through the ending, so I had to improv.  Since I was in a lot of sketches I did not give all the songs my complete focus. I would work on one song while thinking of another one. I know I did not perform my best. I was doing the most I just wanted to get through each song, without it being a mess. I can not remember what was going on in my head while onstage, it all went by so quickly. I was really happy when I heard we won something, because it leaves a mark for after we graduate.

What I would do differently is practice more without stopping on the song, and when performing the song only think of that song. Also plan out costume changes, and pick costume that can easily get into. If props are needed make sure they are ready before you go onstage not while you are onstage. Not only one person has to do everything. If you know something needs to be done, let someone in charge know then do it. It was not my job to be on concessions, but I made a price list, help set up, and watched the snacks. I was not able to watch my peers perform, because I was either helping backstage or getting ready to perform. I wonder what I will see when I come back next year as an alumni. I have high expectations.

  5. For the lip sync show, I performed in No Scrubs by TLC, Dreaming of You by Selena, and Be My Baby by The Ronettes. Be my Baby by the Ronettes was my first solo this year. I feel that if I had a better costume I would feel that my performance would be better look-wise. In my second solo, dreaming of you by Selena, I feel that if I used different movement I could have done way better but I think it was because I was at the stairs and not near area 3. I was more prepared to do my solos in areas 2, 3, and 4 than areas 1 and 5. In my theatre 3 sketch, No Scrubs, I was one of the girls who were singing to their scrubs. I feel that if we practiced more and had our actors present when we did practice. We would probably be more organized and neat. I feel that if my group had figured out timing , we would have been more compelling.

  6. I performed in Weak by SWV and Thriller by Micheal Jackson.

I felt really nervous and excited about Weak, from the first day there was a lot of ideas and a lot of changes. Even though we had less people and we had to fill people in, I believe that our performance was good. The day before the show we had to change throwing a football to playing with a balloon. Even though we changed it, we had to be on time, which made things a lot harder. The day of our performance, I felt as if we could have done better. We could have characterized Yamoni and I kissing scene to make it look like an actual kiss. We forgot little things, but the crowd didn't notice. Overall we could have worked harder on our time and make our sketch more real. At the end of the Lip Sync, during the rewards I was really happy our sketch won. I was really proud of us and I was happy that we could pulled it off.
The next performance was Thriller and I was a zombie. I had a great time performing that sketch. It had the crowd moving and even though I was an extra zombie I had a great time. Something that I would have done better was working on the dance. If I had more time to work on the dance it would have looked nicer.
