  1. I hope to have my entire piece memorized and also to break. My partner is Brianna Sharpe.
The Duo Pieces we have considered are Sad and Glad from Almost Maine, The Answer from Love Sick, and I Can't Think of it Right Now by Nick Zagone. We are leaning more towards I Can't Think of it Right Now.
I will also for my individual event be doing Storytelling, I am not quite sure what book I will be using.

  2. My partner is Lane. Our plans are to be able to break in Duet Acting. We are willing to put in the time that it takes.

The pieces that we are considering are Sad and Glad from Almost Maine, The Answer from Love/sick and I can't Think It Right Now. We are most likely going to compete with the piece I can't Think Of It Right Now.

I will be competing in Poetry. I am choosing between Useless Bay, The Type, If I Should Have a Daughter and Table games by Sarah Kay. All of these are amazing poems with potential however each one is about three minutes.

    1. If I were in your position I would not choose Almost Maine because a lot of people are familiar with it. Almost Maine is another one of those popular ones people leap towards automatically once they get the chance to. But other than that I like your other choices.

    2. It sucks that we couldn't be partners, but it is defiantly easier to find a male and female piece then two female pieces. I remember you saying how you and Lane's piece was similar to Love Sick, and I think it was more convenient of yall to choose the one yall did.

    1. I would stay away from Steel Magnolias because every year West Creek performs that same piece. Judges tend to get tired of that piece as well as the Odd Couple. It is good piece but not a good comp piece. Other than that I love all of the other pieces.

  6. My partner is Indie Outlaw. We hope to have our pieces memorized and good partnership before the competition.

The duo pieces that Indie and I considered are are: Enough is Enough, Cosette and Catherine, Juliet and Ophelia. We are considering actually doing is, "Cosette and Catherine."

The individual event that I will be doing is poetry. I have looked at pieces, but have not fully found three that i really like yet. I am still searching.

  7. For my first competition I would like to memorize my piece and break. My partner Jakiya and I considered 4 different acting pieces: “Spare Me” by A. Rey Pamatmat, “Ask Any Girl” by Winifred Wolfe, “Chicken Shoot”, and “Anger Management”.
My partner and I are choosing to perform “Anger Management” by Lindsay Price. We both agree to meet places outside of school to make our first competition experience a great one. We also are going to work extremely hard during the class time we have.
For my individual event I’m choosing to compete in poetry. I’m not really sure what poem I’m going to be performing yet, but I have looked through some different poets poems. These include Longoton Huges, Claude McKay, and Maya Angelou. Every poem I read so far are very well written poems. I just don’t think there for me.

  8. For my first performance for competition I would like to memorize and break with the help of my partner Isabella. Before deciding on what piece we were going to choose we had 4 options : ‘Chicken Shoot” by Jennie Webb, “Spare Me” by A. Rey Pamatmat , “Anger Management “ by Lindsay Price and “Ask Any Girl” by Winifred Wolfe. After reviewing all the options listed we decided to go with “Anger Management” by Lindsay Price. Me and my partner are willing to have after school practices so we are competition ready. And are ready to utilize every available minute we have to add characterization and emotion to the dialogue provided.

For my individual piece I am considering doing a poetry. I haven’t researched all the available poets or poems but I like the works of Edgar Allen Poe. Because everyone has a different interpretation of his pieces and I like the mysterious vibe he has when writing. But my mind is still open to other poets and pieces.

  9. For my first competition I would like to memorize all of my pieces and hopefully break in at least one of them. My partner is Vanessa Wilkes. Vanessa and I have decided that we were going to be doing a duo interpret and we are planning to do a story telling piece.

The Duo Interpret storytelling ideas that me and Vanessa are possibly going to do are: Girl Court, Cinderella, and Tangled. Me and Vanessa are still trying to decide on what to do. We are leaning towards either Cinderella or Tangled.

For my individual piece, I have decided to compete in the solo acting category. The pieces that I have considered doing are: Beautiful Day by Joseph Armone, The Serpent's Tale by Leonid Andreyev, and The Care and Feeding of baby birds by Ann Wuehler. Out of my three choices I have choosen to do The Serpent's Tale by Leonid Andreyev.

  10. I chose Sarah as my partner in duet acting. We have looked at a few pieces called "Enough is Enough," "Juliet and Ophelia" and "Cosette and Catherine". Out of those three options we are considering Cosette and Catherine as our main choice right now because it seems like one we can be confident with.

For my solo I am leaning towards poetry. I considered storytelling but I thought poetry would be better to start off with for my first time competing. I have looked at a couple of pieces but have not found one I am seriously considering yet.

    1. Hopefully we can see everyone act when they do there own pieces. I would love to see how story telling goes. I noticed a lot of people are doing poetry though cause it seems easy.

  11. My partner for the first competition is Emily. We are still trying to figure out which to do but we are leaning towards duo interpret storytelling.

The three pieces that we have looked over was: Girl Court, Tangled and Cinderella. The decision would probably be either Tangled or Cinderella.

For my solo I have chosen prose for my first competition. I had also considered poetry and storytellng but I am going to go with this route. I have chosen to do it off a book called A Rose For Melinda by Lurlene McDaniel. My other choice was: Sticks and stones by Chibelle

I am hoping, for it being my first competition that I do well and hoping to memorize all of my parts.

  12. My partner is tatjiana. We chose to be partners because we get along well and can really work off of each others energy.

We thought about doing a duet with a scene from love sick. We chose this because it has lesbians in it. Lesbians make judges uncomfortable and that is the way to win. We also thought about doing an interp scene called tangled. Lastly we thought about doing an interp of the help.

For my individual piece I thought about doing the gingerbread man in the storytelling category. I wanted to do this because I am familiar with this category. I also think it would be cool to do a dramatic interp with the book "out of my mind."

  13. My partner is Kaia for the duet acting. The pieces we've considered are "Tangled", "Pageant Perfect",and "The Help". Kaia and I are considering to do "Tangled" the most.

For my solo I will be doing a dramatic or a comedic. I felt I will do in both for the competition, but I haven't chosen my piece yet. One piece I've considered is "Sixy Years, To Life" by Nick Zagone. This script is really long so I also considered "Collaboration" by Kellie Powell which is about one minute long.

  14. My partner is Francis and we are doing duo interp. I plan on having my pieces memorized and doing well. This will be my first time at competition so I plan on learning from this experience.

The piece that we plan on doing is called Ask Any Girl . The pieces that we also chose was Gatsby, You Can't take It With You, and I can't remember the other one we picked.

For my individual piece I'm doing solo acting called Fourteen. It's about a friend who is a wedding planner who is loosing it.(Going crazy)
