  1. The two other people who I have chosen to be on my team are Marissa and Emily.

We are going to be building the set for the classroom. We chose this set because it still requires hard work but it is not as complex as Ralphie's house. By doing this we will hopefully have more room to improve on the skills that we need but can efficiently build a set.

I believe the challenges that we will face in building the set are bracing the wall with the window. since the window is the heaviest part of out piece we will need the strength to hold the wall up and have someone efficiently secure the wall. we all have the training it is now the part of building a moving piece for the play.

  2. The two people who are on my team are Ayana and Rachel. I'm very happy with my teammates and I'm sure that we'll have a great time creating the set piece.

My group is going to be creating Ralphie's room. I'm excited to work on this piece, even though I know that it is most likely going to be difficult. I know that the more difficult it is and the more work I have to put in, the more satisfaction I will get out of it in the end.

Most of my group isn't the best with the drills, but we're going to work on that and have Ayana guide us and hopefully get better. I think that someone in my group isn't the most comfortable with cutting and measuring but I've gotten much more confident with that and hopefully I can help. I plan on making the best room for Ralphie and I hope that our component turns out very well.

  3. My team leader is Jessica West. Avi is the other member on my team. Our team is kind of responsible for everything in a way. We have an easy assignment so we are going to help other people too.

The component that we know we are going to do is the platform for the flagpole. It is esentially just a platform I believe so it will be easy to finish in our time frame. The other groups that have bigger and more complicated parts will need assistants and that is where our group will step in.

The part that will be hard For our group is the part where we can come into class and not know what we are going to have to help with that day. It will help us work on different skills because we will have different projects.

  4. My team consists of Booker and Rogers, with me as the captain.

My group is responsible for making the stand for the flag pole. I think this will be relatively easy for my group, because we all know what we're doing and how to do it. I feel that we will work well together and be able to make our component quickly without much hassle.

I think the only problem we will have is amount of resources. There are a lot of groups and a lot of projects to be done which will take a lot of drills and screws, so I don't know if we will be able to get done as quickly as we could. I feel as if once we get the tools we need we will finish really quick.

  6. The two other people in my group are Abbey and Tatijhana. I volunteered to be the leader of this team, and I am expected to take responsibility for my team and our progress. I am confident in my team and believe we can be responsible and able to work together.

We were tasked with creating the fold-out walls for the lower half of the masterpiece to simulate a living room. They have an L-shape wall holding each of them up on either side, and have hinges that connect to the masterpiece and allow it to fold evenly against the sides of the masterpiece. This part of the set will not be easy to complete due to its scale, however it isn't too complex to understand, so I believe we will still be able to complete it.

Whether we build the walls from scratch or we have to use an existing wall is unknown, which may come as a problem when we have to draw the rear view of the wall and/or build it. Also, we have never installed hinges on a wall before, so that will be something new for us and it may cause a bit of a struggle. However, as long as we refer to our training and ask the right questions, we should be able to complete this correctly without too much confusion and struggle.

    1. What are your efforts to completing this project? Do you have a plan to stay after school or do you think that it will be completed in class?

  7. The component of the set that I am building is the Higbees department store. My team is Sarah Swick, Vanessa Wilks, and Keyara Williams. A challenge that my group may face is a lack of motivation. Some of my group members are in the play so it may be hard to work after school.

    2. Are you including yourself in the "lack of motivation"? That seems like an issue that should have already been solved this far into Theatre; have some ambition! I do see how being in play will clash with working on your project, however. You'll have to do your best in class.

  8. My group consists of Brianna and Emily. Both of them are hardworking individuals that I think will make it easy to accomplish the set.

Our group is responsible for making the school. I'm really excited to do this piece because it has multiple parts like the folding walls with the hinges which will be satisfying if we accomplish the set.

There are many challenges that we will face trying to accomplish this face. For one, we do not have very much arm strength; however we have a lot of brains. So if we think about the correct way and apply that to building the set we will have little to no trouble.

    1. I'm sure if you guys put your strength together you will get it done.

    2. If you lack strength, other groups have members willing to help you. Just make sure to ask!

Some challenges i think my group faces is the lack of people, cause one to two people sometimes so its hard to get things done a lot. Also another challenge i think my group faces is communication, because one person will say something to one person, but forget to tell the others;so its confusing. I believe my group will over come these challenges and we will get through things.

  11. For this project I'm teamed up with Megan and Abbey. With Hook as the team leader.

My team is responsible for for the walls down stairs of Raphie's house. We're also tasked with the kitchen cabinets. My group has to be capable to not just make walls but build them so they are able to fold on each sides of the wall, this will be build with the master piece.

A challenge my group may face is building this project on time and getting the hings on the walls to make a folding effect. We can overcome this by coming after school and asking question. Also,we need to learn to use own time wisely to finish in time.

  12. My team consists of Indie, Phyllisea (in spirit), Rachel (temporarily), and myself.

We are working on the kitchen counter, a two-component set piece. Half of it is a sink, and the other half is supposed to be an oven. Currently, the sink has been measured and cut, and the oven has been drawn and planned to fit alongside the sink. Both will be attached to an eight foot wide wall, which is currently being worked on by another team.

At first, we had a lot of trouble finding tape to mark on for a cut, but I feel we handled that issue pretty well. At first, we asked as many people as we could where the tape was, but that never yielded us any of the proper tape. So, we took matters into our own hands, and scrounged up any loose type and "recycled" it for our project, which turned out pretty well. In the future, we are going to have to find the proper components to make a sink that looks like a sink, and an oven that looks like an oven. When the kitchen wall is finished, we should be able to easily attach our components to it.

  13. The two people that I get to work with are Brianna and Marissa.

The component of the play that my group are in charge of the school building. The reason that my group choose to work on the school building because even though that the school building has a lot of hard work but it is also not complicated than some of the other buildings.

Some of the troubles that my group has faced is dealing with the window since it is the heaviest part of our project that we might need some help placing the wall on the skateboard. We are all intelligent in our own ways that if we combine forces then we can get the job done.

    1. It might be alittle challenging. Work together and no job is hard when you work as a team.

  14. I was on a team with Francis and Austin Becraft (sorry if I didn't spell y'all name right) But anyways our group was working on the fence. The challenges my group faced was time and like actually planning how we was going to do the whole thing. Francis and I finished the fence yesterday after school , we didn't make the fence as we first planned it, we actually had time to make it better. Now that i'm finish with my component, I plan to help the other groups finish theirs.

  15. I was on a team with Sarah, Vanessa, and Frank. We were working on Higbees department store. There were many challenges with building the Higbee department store. We had to change are plan from using side walls to using rails because the walls were making the set look small and tight. We will work as a team and finish are piece of the set in a timely manor.

  16. My team consisted of Nick and Phyllisea. Rachel also worked with Nick on our project for a day while I helped a different team build Higby's platform. Our group's job is the counter with the cabinet. We had to measure and have the counter cut to 3 feet long. The biggest challenge is probably that the group leader (Phyllisea) got sick and was not able to come to school for a while. I think that as the leader she understood the dimensions a little bit better than Nick and I, so having her there would have been helpful. However, we can overcome that by putting our two heads together and working with what we know to get the project done.
