  1. I’m also excited about stage make up. I’ve always wanted to learn more about dramatic make up ,and I hope I get to learn that in this class. I hope we can help each other out during our learning process.

  2. My expectations for stage production is to further my knowledge in construction and dramatic make up. I’ve always enjoyed watching others do make up ,but now I want to be the person doing the make up. I also have learned a few basics of construction from my granddad and want to further my knowledge for future experiences.

Although I don’t aspire to be a make up artist or construction worker I do believe that these skills will help me when acting alone won’t. I hope that by going through the experience of learning these skills that I learn more than just the skills. I also know that these things will help me when I graduate next year and I’m living alone and need to make extra money on the side. I could use these skills to make extra money by offering my skills to my peers or others.

In conclusion when we do start to learn these skills and other skills in this class I will be alert and attentive to the tasks at hand. I will help my other peers to better understanding the topics and make sure to venture out of class and audition for plays also.

    1. I'm also interested in construction, and i have had a little learning outside the class. I hope we can help each other further our knowledge in class. And watching people work and put things together i enjoy, i feel you learn better watching hands on and teaching.

  3. Doing construction sounds like a very fun learning experience. I've never worked with power tools and wood. Power tools always made me nervous because i know i'm very capable of hurting myself, but i hope we could watch over each other during this experience.

  4. My exceptions is to learn how to sew and stage makeup. I wanted to learn the basics of each one. I've always watched it and thought i can't wait to use these things and create new looks, and making clothes just sound exciting.

I've always wanted to do stage makeup or just makeup in general. I have a very creative mind so i think that i would great in that department. That goes for the costumes too. I've been afraid to use a sewing machine or even just sew. I want to let the fear go away.

I will definitely use these skills in the future. I want to do something that uses a creative mind when I get out of high school. I might want to do this professional. Doing stage makeup and makeup for famous people. I'm excited for my adventure this year in stage production.

  6. My expectations in stage production is too learn more about the behind the scenes of the plays.

In stage production i plan on learning about stage building , hair and makeup, and costumes. i know theres not much acting and more so behind the scenes work, but if i want to act i could simply audition. although i didn't plan on taking this class i do plan on putting my best foot forward and doing what i need to do to pass stage production.

To sum it all up i will try and not give up this year in stage production. As i know there will be many exiting things to learn and do this year.

  7. My expectations in Stage Production is to have a fun experience in set building. Even though I've done a few set building in the past during the play,"The Christmas Story", I'm going to try to gain more knowledge in the set building world. Not only am I going to help myself learn, but I am also going to help peers around me that don't know what they're doing

In Theatre 2 I will not be able to act as much as I want to, but it's not that bad because stage production is just as important as the actors acting. Also, I think that set building would help me in and out of school because my dad is trying to build a little shed in the backyard. Instead of watching him do all the work and do nothing, I could help him and actually do something

In conclusion, when we start doing set building, I will start to begin helping others with the little stuff and even challenge myself with the more hefty tasks at hand. I can't wait to start working with all the peers around me.

    1. It is great that you are not only thinking about yourself, but the others around you as well! Hopefully, if I am ever stuck you can help me out. I also agree that it is a little disappointing to not be able to act as much, but it is good to be a well rounded individual with multiple sets of skills.

  8. The first day our class discussed these weekly blogs, Coach Silvers mentioned costume design, and, though he was just using me as an example, I am legitimately excited to learn about it. I expect to be able to acquire and possibly even master the skills needed for creating and designing costumes, as well as be able to apply these abilities to my own life one day in the future.

Ever since I was little, my mom would design costumes for people as a hobby. She was a very crafty woman, and I would watch in awe as she took a simple reference sheet that she fabricated from her mind and turn her fantasy into a reality stitch by stitch. Coincidentally, right before school started, I was actually considering the idea of costume design and it made me really excited thinking about my creations coming to life. I think this class will assist me in achieving my goals and teach me some helpful things to push me forward with my aspirations.

All in all, I am very optimistic about this class, and, to be honest, maybe a little too optimistic. It might not turn out to be everything I hoped and dreamed of, but I am prepared for that. Even still, I know for a fact that Coach Silvers will not let me walk out come end of Junior year without confidence that I learned something, not just anything, but something useful and applicable in the real world. I think it is gonna be a great year!

  9. My expectations in Theater 2, also known as Stage production, is to have a memorable time, and experience new hands on things. Although I worked a little with my uncle in reconstruction, I feel I need a little more knowledge on some of the equipment. This is a good program to help me learn more, as also my peers.

In Stage Production, I'm interested in learning more about the equipment because I feel it could be useful in life. Possible being in Theater 2 could change my mind about a career choice. Building and designing effects the world in some aspects, its the reason we have houses and stores. Its and interesting career choice.

Being said, I want to take something out of this class. Knowledge and help my other peers, learn more and be interested in the fact of building and creating things that help other people

  10. My expectations in stage production is to learn more about the technical things in the Theater and stage makeup. Also the construction on how to build different types of set's for the plays.

In stage production I plan to learn about how to work the sound board and know how to do the lights and project them. Stage makeup wise I would like to learn how to do it and perfect it. As the sound board I would like to learn how to turn it on and work the the sound for the music and the microphones and head sets for the play's. As far as lights I would like to know how to place the lights on a production and make it look amazing.

In conclusion I think that I would have an amazing year in stage production. This will be an amazing year.

    1. I agree with learning about the technical things because certain sound effects have a big role in the play and if there is no one to do it then the play might be missing something. I'm also very excited for this year.

  11. My expectations for this Theatre 2 Stage Production class is to gain knowledge on creating sets. Also I would like to see how much work actually goes into the play aside from the acting. Over the last couple years I've always enjoyed the set designs whether it be footloose or The Little Shop of Horrors.

Since I am in Construction Structural Systems 2 I could use my knowledge on power tools and measurements to help out with this years set building. I would love to finally get to use the skills I learn in construction outside of the class. I also know that safety and communication is a key factor in handling certain tools and building so I will be sure to help out my peers if I see they need some assistance.

Now after seeing the sets from last year and how good they were I want to challenge myself and my team to create sets that will catch the audiences eyes. I'm very excited to start building these sets with my team.

  12. My Expectations In Stage Production is to do makeup. I’ve seen people do it , and I thought it would be fun. I also want to do some sewing. I have did some makeup before but I wanna have more experience with it.

I’ve always said I wanted to do makeup. I just never really put my mind to it. This year I’m going to actually put my mind to it. I feel like this would be a perfect thing for me to do. As far as sewing , I know how to , I just don’t know know how to make costumes and that’s something I really want to learn

I will not use these skills in the future , but I thought that I juss wanted to give it a try to see how it is. Maybe my mind will change depending on how good I do. This can give me a chance to work on my people skills and learn how to communicate better with people.

  13. My expectations for Stage Production this year is building for the next upcoming plays. I don't have much knowledge about building except for arch's and triangles. therefore, this year will definitely be a fun and challenging year.

I always had an idea if I wanted to do construction in high school because of my brother. despite the fact that you need to know geometry and physics. On the other hand, I am intrigued on learning about new hands on skills especially the saw.

For instance, I would use these skills in the forthcoming years. As things go on if football doesn't cut out as planned i'm thinking about doing construction as a backup. I am without a doubt ready to get the year started and start building.

  14. My expectations for this class is to get out of my shyness. I’ve always been shy from moving all the time from being in the military. And I’d like to get of my shy stage. I just wanna have a conversation with the people I work with.

I would also like to do stage makeup too. It sounds like it would be a lot of fun. I can do regular makeup, but stage makeup sounds more fun. I lastly like to do a play. I’ve been in a play and I miss the experience I had with being in a play.

In conclusion I think I’m gonna look forward to a lot of things this school year. I hope I at least accomplish one of my expectations this year. I hope with my expectations this year will be fun with my classmates. I just wanna make some friends & pass the class.

  15. My expectations for this class is to learn something new. I want to learn to use the power tools. I also want to learn how to build things, I'd rather try to do it by myself, but i have classmates that need to learn too.

I would also like to learn costume making. I would like to design an outfit as in putting an outfit together myself for a certain character. Maybe, sewing or knitting something out that could be used as an accessory to an outfit. Lastly, i would want to learn to do stage makeup as in painting faces and turning a face into a creature or animal.

In Conclusion, I just want to have a good year in theatre. I want to learn some new things. I also want to grow as an actor or being in technical theatre.

  16. This year in Theater two I expect to learn not only how to build and maintain a structure but also how to create on stage makeup looks and costumes. I want to find out how to makeup artists in the theater world create looks dramatic enough for the stage. As well as how to sew and make costumes that apply to whichever role the actor is representing.

I have always been interested in what the world back stage looks like. With actors hurrying across, and stations set up to get them performance ready. Some of my family members are makeup artists for things like Disney world and TV shows, and it would be interesting to have a look into their life styles.

While I may not have always been interested in actually being on stage, I have always wanted to be part of the family that is somewhat the bones of the acts. Makeup and costumes may not always be the most important part in a play. However, they make the story that much more realistic and real life to the audience.

  17. My expectations for my experience in stage production is to learn new things about theatre. I am excited to see how all the hard work put into a production pays off. I am excited to work with lighting and sound. Learning new things has always been fun, so I am eager to get the ball rolling.

I plan to push myself to step out of my comfort zone. I won't let fear get in the way of success. I will learn to work in new ways. I hope to gain new problem solving skills. With that I can go far in the real world.

Now that I have a plan, I need to put it in motion. I will go higher than the expectations. I will learn new things about myself and others. And finally, I will gain a better understanding of the real world.

  20. My expectations for stage production is to learn how to make things. I love the fact that you can take so little and make something so big. I would like to learn how to focus the lights and color code them. My expectations is just to learn, make, and teach, at westcreek high theater prduction.

So later on in my life time whatever i'am doing or where i'am in life, i will have these skills in life. So if i go camping i could make a fire by building the wood. But even when i'm not doing anything, i will still have the skills.

Now i know stage production and if anybody needs me or need anything, i will be the guy to call on. I'm sorry but i have the skills and you don't, but it really don't matter if i'am going to use it or not because it's still a fun class to take.
