Last Saturday Lane and I went to Dickson County. The division we performed in was Duo Interpretation. Our piece was The Least Offensive Play in the Whole Darn World.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking that before we even competed that we had a good chance of breaking and placing. Then we did the first round and thought that I just blew it for us and that we weren't going to break.After my mistake in the first round we did better in the second and third round so I thought that we would still have a chance.
We ended up getting ninth place overall when in Portland we placed fifth. In round one we got fourth and in round two and three we placed third. I was disappointed because I felt that if I didn't mess up in the first round we would have placed higher.
I did not meet any of the expectations that I had personally. I was disappointed in myself and felt like I let down Lane and the whole team. My goal was to place higher and we didn't do that.
Lane and I will practice. Coach already said that he will help us with our piece we would just have to be coach-able. I will be willing to spend my time working on this piece.
Last Saturday I went to Dickson County.I preformed in an individual event. The event that I preformed in was Prose.
ReplyDeleteAt the competition, I did not break or place. I feel like I placed last out of everyone in my division because I was not prepared. My performance expectations were going to be low because I did not know what I as doing.
I ended up getting in the first round a . In the second round I got a. Lastly, in the third round I received a . I definitely met my expectation because I didn't come prepared and I didn't know what I was doing.
I will make sure that I choose a piece that suits me as a person. I will make sure that I practice the piece more. I will also be more prepared then I did when I went to the competition.
What did you end up placing in the rounds? I feel that we were all unprepared because our time was spent with Dracula. This just goes to show that we need this bad feeling to be more ambitious and strive for the medal. I plan to work harder and I hope you do as well.

DeleteAt Dickson County I performed in two different categories. I performed in Pros and Story Telling. I performed Among The Hidden for Pros and The Sword in The Stone for ST. In all honesty, I was much more proud of my performance in story telling. I really loved the energy that I brought to that piece.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I expected to do a lot worse, because I scrapped a different piece last second and created the newer one 3 days before competition. Although, I ended up doing better than I thought and I decided to keep it. I scored a 5-1-3. This isn't too shabby for a piece that was done last minute.
In the end, I didn't break in either category. Even so, I saw hope. Hope to turn the Story Telling piece into the best piece ever. I plan on incorporating a lot more sound effects that can impress the Judges.
