  1. 3rd period calls dibs on Just A Friend by Biz Markie! We also propose Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne and Careless Whisper by George Michael. Just a Friend would make a great sketch to match the energy of our theater 1 class. We would have one actor perform as Biz Markie while others acted out a scene of a girl mistreating a guy as the song describes. Girlfriend would also be great for a theater one sketch about jealousy. Careless Whisper could create a sketch about regret and missing a broken friendship or relationship, but it might be better for our group to perform than the theater ones because it is a deeper interpretation.

  2. The first song about friendship I think of is "You Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story by Randy Newman, 1996. Another song is Graduation (Friends Forever) by Vitamin C, 1999. The last song is You're My Best Friend by Queen, 1975.

I think Graduation would make a great sketch for the theatre 4's /seniors because that is what we will be feeling and hoping for in the future. You're my best friend would be a great song.

For you're my best friend the guy keeps experiencing heartbreaks and his best friend is always there with an adventure to go on. random things like going to Walmart and sit in a shopping cart trying not to get caught. she always pushes him out of his comfort zone.

When I first saw the Mash-up I thought that each group was going to have a mashup so I thought of a story line. Beginning with There's No Way There's No Going There by Lauv, 2018. Then Happier by Marsh mellow, 2018 then Lights Down Low by Max, 2016. lastly, Hold On by Chord Overstreet, 2016. The beginning is when they are young and the meet and through the relationship they take a break and find each other again only to loose each other in a crash. I think that it would be a strong message for the audience and something different.

  3. Other song that can be done is Wannabe by the Spice girls, 1996. However since the song is only 2 minutes it can be a filler. that can be the same for all of the theatre 3's. a famous Girl group and act as if you were the group.

  4. 1) Stand by me- Ben King
    2) Sara Smile- Hall and Oats
    3) Friends theme song
Biz Markie- just a friend would be great for our group
There would be a couple and then a "friend" that has to act natural everytime the boyfriend come around and the Biz would walk around singing and making faces at the scene going on.
I think the mashup should be a lot to do with the power of friendship and maybe can have to do with social change. How friendship and sticking together promotes change outside of just bullying. Another idea is if there is like friend groups that falls apart but then other groups are formed by the members and everyone is happy or plot twist the good friend leaves the bad influences and the bad ones get in trouble and the good one thrives.

  5. We decided that we will have "Just a Friend" as one of the theater one mashup songs. The concept is that we will use Nick as Biz Markie and he will rap. We will have one guy that will be the boyfriend and one that will be the "friend". We will need a girl to go back and forth. We aren't sure on what other one or two songs to do because we feel like the other songs need to match the energy of the other one.
For the theater 3 project we think we want to do Girlfriend by Avril Lavign and pretty much use the video as a platform for our concept.

  6. 1) We're all in this together - High School Musical - 2006
    2) You Got a Friend - James Taylor - 1971
    3) Stand by Me - Ben E. King - 1986
I believe that We're All in This Together would make a good sketch because it is a very broad story behind it. We could do a sketch that consisted of a dance number and multiple scenes of someone having a bad day, and a friend coming to fix and/or help resolve your problem.

  7. 1)Lean on me-Bill Withers (1972)
2)Amigas Cheetahs- The Cheetah Girls (2006)
3)We're all in this together-High School Musical (2006)
I feel like Lean on me would make a good sketch because the song itself is telling you the whole story. We could have two sets of actors that tell two sides of a story from different perspectives. We could mash the song up Stand by Me (Ben E. King) to keep the same vintage vibe to the performance. And when the two songs mashup the two sets of actors could clash and then begin to build a friendship going along with the stand by me lyrics.

    1. I really like your song choices, but I think lean on me and Stand by me are songs that people always go too. I really like We're all in this together and think that is a good choice.

  8. 1) 1985-Dionne Warwick-That's What Friends Are For
    2)2009-Demi Lovato-Gift for a Friend
    3)2009-kms-Best friend forever

I feel like Best Friends forever would make a good sketch. The song id telling a story about when you are a sad and feel alone you still have a friend. It also tells a really good and strong story about friendship. We could mash up A gift of a friend with Disney Friendship songs. All of the Disney Friendship songs together because they kind of tell similar stories.

  9. 1) See you again- Wiz Kahlifa ft. Charlie Puth- 2015
    2) True friend- Hannah Montana- 2007
    3) If I didn't have you- Billy Crystal and John Goodman- 2001

I think See you again, would be a great sketch for my theater one group because no matter how far apart you might be, or if you start falling off as a whole, you know that you guys will always be friends. After realizing and getting back together we would mash up true friend and If I didn't have you

  10. 1)Best Friends by Sophia Grace- 2015
2)Anytime You Need A Friend by Mariah Carey- 1993
3)Goodbye Friend by David Guetta- 2014

I think that Best Friend by Sophia Grace would be a perfect song for a sketch for my group. The song talks about her bestfriend and basically how they will be friends forever. How they have each others backs and don't need to worry about boys.

The mashup should be about friends who fall out because of social media or pier pressure. How a group or maybe one feels the need to change to fit into a new group. Or maybe like a couple people from a friend group should change and learn that they are too old for their friends and that its time to grow up maybe.

  12. 1. You're my best friend by Queen (1975)
    2. My Best friend by Weezer (2005)
    3. Golden Girls theme Song by Cynthia Fee (1978)

I think that You're my Best Friend by Queen would be a good song for a sketch because since Queen is a popular band it would have a good influence and it show the true meaning of friendship.

My idea for this sketch is to have the two leads portray a string friendship bond and throughout the song have them go through the ages and show how no matter what they will always find each other.

The mashup idea that I had in mind was a bunch of songs that show a friendship bond that will never break. No matter if they get into a huge argument or if they moved away from each other. They will always fond their way back to each other
