Discuss the challenges you faced in creating and recording a light show.  How did you overcome these challenges, and how can you avoid these challenges in the future?

  1. The hardest challenge for me was remembering what light numbers go to what part of the stage. I was able to over come this challenge by looking at the left screen. Another challenge I faced was remembering to number and name my ques. I was able to overcome this by practice and paying more attention to my surroundings.

  2. The challenges i faced in recording a light show was trying to remember what order to create it in, its like i know what to do but then, what order to start with. It be like that sometimes. away to avoid this is, to keep going over the order and study the guide lines.

    1. I agree the order is hard at times. It is very easy to mess up.

  3. the only challenge i faced was relearning how to use the light board. once i got to used to it again it became a pretty easy process. however, the hardest thing is knowing what light number covers what spot on the stage. I guess the way to avoid making thhis a challenge is memorize the light numbers and what they cover.

    1. I also had that problem, but instead of trying remember every single number I thought of it as 17 through 20 instead of 17,18,19,20.

  6. When I first went up to the booth with Kyarra and Antonio we encountered a problem with creating a new show which was resolved with a simple solution. This resulted in a shortened time to complete our project. I also had troubling with the timing of transitions.

When we were faced with the problem of naming and creating a new show we began trouble shooting, with the thought that the problem was bigger than it actually was. Eventually we asked coach for assistance and he approached the problem piece by piece. He discovered that naming a light show was similar to naming a file on his computer; in the matter that you can't put punctuation in the name.

By overthinking the problem and panicking we wasted time. I will avoid making the same mistake by analyzing the challenge I'm faced with step by step and calmly no matter how serve the problem is.

    1. That's the same thing I had problems with when I was creating my light show. I'm glad you shared how to fix it so next time I could remember this as well

  7. Some challenges that I have faced with creating a light show is labeling each of the cues of what the lights were. Another one that I've faced with creating the light show is remembering the lights for the cues when I'm recording the light show.
I overcame these challenges by asking Kyarra questions when I didn't understand something. And while she explained it to me I listened and took notes while she was explaining it to me.

  8. I didn't face many challenges but one of the challenges I faced was I forget to press enter and I would continue to do what the prompt tells me to do. I would completely mess up and then I'd have to restart. Another challenge I faced was changing the time intervals.

I can overcome these challenges is remember to press enter or write it down somewhere to remember. I could also remind myself to press enter before I start to continue without entering the work I had done before.

I can avoid these challenges by memorizing how the light system works. I could also write down somethings to remind myself to press enter and change the time intervals.

  9. The challenge i faced was with teaching my peers how to make a light show without doing it for them. I learned that i should just sit on my hands and talk them through the problem instead of touching the board. It matter because if i'm only doing it for them they wont learn to work it for them self.
