  1. At the beginning, Kaia and I didn't have a piece. Since we never done DI, its a completely different concept than duet acting. We can't look or interact with each other. But then we watched 'Everything,Everything' it took 2 days for us to watch it and create a script out of it with just the parts we wanted. It took 3 days to memorize and we are kinda off script. I still get tangled in it, but it was 17 minutes long! so we had to take some out. We are working to see if the parts that we did take out won't create a big impact on it.

  2. In the beginning, the challenge was finding a piece. I looked online and found one, but then I found out we were not allowed to use pieces from online. Then, the challenge turned into creating a piece.

We overcame this challenge by spending time after school learning how to create our own duo interp script. Once I learned the rules, it was pretty simple. It was time consuming but I eventually finished the manuscript.

This is my first time doing duo interp, so there are still many challenges to overcome. I have also never done duet acting, so I have to learn to act with a partner. This is especially difficult because in duo interp we are not allowed to make eye contact or interact with one another in any physical way. In order to prepare for an excellent performance, I have to practice with my partner to overcome the discomfort of sharing a piece without physical acknowledgment of one another.

  3. At the beginning of the process, Indie and I first had a piece that was okay but it wasn't long enough. So we had to go and find another piece. So we then settled on doing our own interpretation of "The Lovely Bones".

One obstacle that I faced was figuring out whether I should do different voices for my multiple characters that I will be portraying. I then decided that I will be doing some voices for some of them so then I was going to do keep my voice. Another obstacle that I faced was not depending on Indie on some actions and some lines. I over came these obstacles by working on my lines and coming up with signals for some of my characters.

One challenge that I still can't obtain is making sure that I wait the appropriate amount of time so I can make sure that I'm either being asked a question or giving Indie's character a chance to answer the question that she doesn't answer. Another challenge that I must overcome is memorizing my lines but doubting myself.
