Discuss the upcoming competition in relationship
to the previous one. What are you doing to produce a superior outcome? (this should be at least 3 Paragraphs)
The upcoming will be different from the first one because it's the first time i'm doing a solo piece let alone 2, and they're both different. What i'm going to do to produce a superior outcome is working outside of class and focus.
Also I need to take in as much advice as possible and use that to better myself. I find that if I use my criticism and apply that to my piece it makes it better and I don't have to listen to the same thing everyday from the same people.
Another thing I'm going to is ask question about my piece and make sure I understand what i'm reading so I can let my audience really focus on what i'm saying and try to make sure they understand what i'm telling them or what I want them to take away.
I agree with you when you said that you should take as much advice as possible because advice is only to help you improve not to help you get worse. I think that you will bee able to do this because you can do all you have to do is make sure that you work hard on your pieces and believe in yourself.
For this next competition I am doing poetry and dramatic interp. For the poetry I am doing a few pieces about divorce. My dramatic interp is looking for alaska by john green. I am excited and nervous to double.
This competition will be different because instead of one piece that you have a partner for you have two and they are both individual. It is likely that a lot of us will be in the same rooms because we are doing a lot of the same categories.
I have my manuscripts and have most of looking for Alaska memorized. It will allow me to work on bettering my piece once I am passed simply memorizing it. I will make sure to focus so that I can break and maybe we can bring home some medals.
The upcoming competition will be different from the first competition because instead of working with a partner and doing one piece, I will be working on two different pieces and doubling for the first time. I also think that this competition will be different because if I mess up I can only blame it on myself and not anybody or else and me.
What I am going to make sure that I produce a superior outcome by making sure that I look over my pieces and make sure that I have them memorized. I will also make sure that I am prepared at the competition and not doubt myself.
One thing that I am going to do to make sure that I produce for a superior outcome for my storytelling piece by making sure that I can actually add characterization instead of just saying like I am me. One thing that I am going to do to make sure that I produce a superior outcome for my prose piece by making sure that I understand what is going on in my piece and make sure that I at least have some of it memorized that way I can make eye contact with the judge and my audience rather than just looking up at my script the whole time.
The last competition was my first time doing a duo piece. It was difficult because I had to depend on my partner knowing her part as well as I knew my own. It was also different from any other competition because I had to create the piece instead of just finding one.
This competition is different from the last one because I am doing two individual pieces. This will be a new experience because I have never doubled before. I am doing poetry and storytelling, so I am actually doing categories I am comfortable with unlike last time.
To produce a superior outcome, I will use my previous experience in storytelling and poetry to create winning pieces. I will recall feedback I have received from judges to do a better performance so that I can improve my rankings. This competition will be different from the past because I have experience to base my work on.
On November 2nd, we are going back to competition in Henry County. I am doubling in poetry and Dramatic Interpretation.
For my poetry piece I found it rather quickly and it feels like I can perform it naturally. If that makes sense. And for my DI piece, I found it my Freshman year, but never brought it to competition. But now I can and I revised everything and it looks good.
I hope to experience some things since I am in a new catergory and such. I am going to take as much time and practice I can this fall break and read over and preform to my parents and peers to get as much feedback I can before geting on a bus to Henry County.
