    1. Pfft, Macy, it was third overall I believe but we actually had talked about it with you around, me and Shyanne had a big discussion about it cause I hadn't had my first kiss back then and I was nervous(I know I know! I was being a wimp!) but we had a huge discussion on it and came to do a stage kiss which we did say we would do when you were around, you just weren't paying attention. Thanks for giving me a laugh though, it was a great night and one of the best things I've done, it was a blast!

  2. My favorite theatre experience would have to be during the beginning of my freshmen year. We would play those games to help loosen us up and ready for the stage. Not only was everyone involved, or rather the ones who wanted to be, but it was a nice way to learn and have fun with friends and friends that weren't before. I never won any of the games, but it was still fun to paly. I would like to be able to build more confidence from these games. Not only for myself for those who actually want to get better at having the spotlight. I think it helps greatly to be able to shake loose that lack of confidence.

    1. I think that playing those sort of games helps everyone who joins in create a stronger bond and builds cohesion with fellow classmates that helps make whatever the next work is not only better but feel more special.

    2. I also enjoyed when we played the different games a lot at the beginning of the year, and it did in fact really help me personally since I can be very very quiet and I'm unlikely to participate unless I become comfortable or if everyone else is at least a little bit uncomfortable. That time was really good for getting us all a little bit more ready for performances and what theatre really was about.

  3. My favorite theatre experience is when we all did the lip sync, in my group I had myself, Macy Pruit, Daniel Molloy, and Shyanne(yes, this is how she spells her name) Chafin, I played the baby daddy in the lip sync, Daniel played the father of the mother, Shyanne played the baby mama, and Macy played Bill Withers and was the one lip syncing the whole time. we never truly stressed over it but instead just hung out and worked what we could out, I tried my hardest to make jokes and Shyanne always jumped in on my jokes and we had a good time, even rehearsing was a blast because we were all hanging out as a group. Macy had some issues figuring out how to sing to the audience and I couldn't get my hands out my pockets... but Shyanne did her parts the way they were intended and while Daniel was a little confused, he got his parts down well. Everyone had a blast doing the whole thing and we all just tried our hardest. we placed third overall which isn't bad considering Macy was the only one with any real experience in theatre... but I'm glad I did that, I don't want to change how we did the play because even if we could have done better with better props, I had fun and that's all that really matters. I'd love to do that kind of thing again with a different group of people!

    1. The details you got are almost, if not, completely as if you did the show only a few days ago. I think it's a good thing that you have such a strong memory, especially over something that happened so many months ago. I think it could really come in handy one day. I'm also glad you enjoyed doing the show. Congrats on 3rd place.

  4. My favorite theatre experience was doing the lip sync. The reason it was my favorite because in theater one I got to come together with my friends and make up a play that I knew would have the audience laughing, And I didn't have to remember certain lines to say I just had to play a dad meeting his daughter boyfriend. It was fun because you would think the people I was in a group with wouldn't want to interact but we all played our part that we were supposed to. And since some of us messed up the first play I guess we all put whatever it was behind us and just had fun as a group. Even though we didn't get first or second place all in all it was a great night and most definitely a night to remember.

    1. I believe that being a part of a group makes any experience much better, pair that with theater where you can go as far as you imagine and the possibilities are endless.

    1. I like how you mentioned the stage adrenaline rush and decline, and it is something you'd have to experience to fully understand. I really enjoyed watching the pieces of your group's performance that I got to see, and I especially loved how much effort you all put into it.

  6. My favorite experience in theatre was during my time in Korea. We were going over lines for the play called Almost, Maine. during the time I was practicing and memorizing my lines I took a second to look at all my classmates working hard. I felt a sense of accomplishments not only for how hard I was working but for also how hard they were working to make sure we'd have a good show. At that point I felt close to my classmates as we all strived for the same goal.

  7. My favorite theatre experience was the Lip Sync show. I really liked the practice my group (Only people that showed were Aaron, Lyndsey and Josephina) did after school and the building of the set that took 3-4 weeks to complete. And then to see our work on stage in front of the crow built a sense of pride and accomplishment in me. Shoutout to Josephina for recruiting me in her group.

    1. You know, Thinking back on the lip sync, you're right! it was a lot easier because you were working with people you already knew! I only had a group of four people but I still knew what I could do with their traits. Daniel was a fluffy guy and very loving, looks and acts like a dad even if you don't know him very well. I used to be very stupid and didn't think things all the way through, I still am, but it made me the baby daddy in the show and that's how I knew which role I could play. Shyanne was very motherly even if she would deny it, she played her role the right way and really got the whole thing going. Macy was the one with the most experience and the one who could actually get the things to play Bill Withers. But I knew everyone's traits and strengths and thinking back on it, we could've done the play better yet I wouldn't want it any other way, cause I had so much fun! The things you do with the people you're familiar with and love as a family make everything so much more worthwhile huh? It's amazing, and knowing the people you're about to be in a play with definitely makes it a lot easier!

  11. My favorite experience in theatre so far is the lip sync show. The
lip sync show was my favorite because unlike Fablefest, I did not
have to worry about becoming comfortable and learning about the other
people in my group because I already knew them. This also meant that
I already knew their habits, including small things such as if they
goofed off a lot and big things like whether or not they were likely
to just show up for rehearsals or the show.
Knowing these things allowed for me to be less stressed while
preparing the show and enabled me to fully prepare and enjoy what I was doing. It was fun to see what we had been working on come together.
Because of my experience during the lip sync show, I knew that I
would want to come back to theatre for at least a second year. There
was a lot I got to learn and see, and I was excited to learn and see
more, especially since I knew that by going to theatre 2, there would
be less people who were only in there just because they needed
another class on their schedule and more people that joined because
they actually enjoyed theatre and wanted to make good productions.

    1. I absolutely agree that it was less stressful to put together a production after already working with the same team mates, and I like how you mentioned that being in Theatre 2 meant there would be less people only wanting the credit. Hopefully, us theatre 2's can use previous knowledge and put together an even better production this year!

    2. YES! I loved how we had worked together again. It was quite easy to know which part would fit best with our peers. It really does save us from A LOT of stress.

    3. It was fun to work in the same group, and the fact that we knew each other as well as we did. I agree that the ones here now are willing to go the extra mile, it's a good thing for what's to come for theatre.

  12. My favorite theatre production to work on is Monster Mash, the performance I did with my team for the Lip Sync. Not only was I able to design and build the set, but the costumes and plotline were completely up to us as well. We had more power over the production, and in my opinion, it made it easier to get our idea across.

My team consisted of Lyndsey, Bryan, Elijah, Aaron, and Evan. All six of us had settled on the song Monster Mash because of it's widespread popularity as a spooky season song. The song was a ballad so creating a plotline was as simple as reading the lyrics, and each character featured in the song already had well known costumes which made out job so much easier. The dance was more difficult since each step and move was supposed to portray our story. Our main set, a rolling platform on wheels, was designed to move on and off stage with ease, but the smaller props, such as the bubble tubes and electrodes, were what really brought it to life.

The production isn't as easy as many would think it would be. You'd figure the set or the plot would be the hardest. Well, big surprise, but it was the people. Satisfying everyone's needs and working at their comfort level was the most challenging. One of the team members was deathly afraid of the stage, one didn't put in effort to show up to practice or the performance, and another didn't do anything more than what was required. As the director, I got frustrated with them easily, constantly calling them out and trying to keep them on task. I made the same kid cry. Twice. It was a miracle we got the dance down.

The night of the performance, March 10th, was surprisingly not as panic inducing as I had thought it would be. Looking back, I think it was the confidence I had in our production, and the confidence I had gained in my team over our time working together. There were definitely things we could improve on, and things I wish I could change. If I could, I probably would have picked some different cast members, but all in all, I didn't think we did bad. We ended up winning second place and creating some memories on the way.

    1. Sometimes we can't all attend to everyone's wants. Yes, it is important but we should all understand that in order for us to do our best, we should work together and know what is best for our play. Working as a team, we can be able to work to our very best and accomplish our goal. Teamwork is the dreamwork. (I know no one says that anymore but I do).

  13. Camryn Lumbard- My favorite theater experience was the lip sync show. The lip syncs show really helped me learn more about my class mates and helped me learn better team bonding. The lip sync show helped me learn more about the past with the oldies songs. It also really helped me decipher real meanings behind not only songs but stories.
I also enjoyed the lip sync show the most because i did not have to worry about forgetting a line unlike fable fest where i could potentially forget what to say. For me forgetting a dance move or action would be less embarrassing because i could just play it off.
Overall of my theater experiences to me the lip sync show was by far the most confusing but also the most fun. I felt like me and my group could really let lose end just relax. I hope future theater one students enjoy the lip syncs shows to come as much as myself and my class mates did.

  14. My favorite theatre experience had been being able to have a part in Fable Fest, in which my team and I had enjoyed. The costumes may have been simple, but it had fit our characters. I believe we had gotten our play point across to those who may have been actually watching.

For my team and me, we had actually taken a quite amount of time to come up with whole play itself, the script and the costumes. It wasn't as hard as we thought, but that was because we worked together as a team and not solo. Working as a team was what got us through our time to come up with the ideas we had presented.

The night of the play, we had rehearsed our lines and our characters actions. It was all fun until we had to go backstage to wait for our turn. I remember standing behind the curtains with my hand on my heart. It was racing. As I was pacing back and forth, Chandler Lewis had came up to me and hugged me. He told me it was nerve-racking at the thought of going up until you get up on the actual stage. It would all turn out great.

Going up to perform with one last hug and the thought of going up was comforting but scary. As we started, my heart started to slow down and I noticed that it was actually fun. Playing my character and being on stage with my team had calmed my nerves. Knowing they were all there was what I had relied on the most. As we did our part of the play, I noticed that maybe going up in front of a bunch of people was quite another good experience in life.

After our part, another group went up. I had gone outside and I felt so relieved and happy but sad since we were done. I really miss that night and I am glad that I had taken theatre. Later on that night, I found out my team had won. Sadly, I had to leave early, but knowing my team and I won had been good enough.

  15. My favorite theater experience was fable fest. It was interesting to create and bring our stories to life with my group. It also gave me a chance to act, even if the story unraveled in the end. It was still fun and so far nothing has come close.

My group and I had a interesting time creating our script. The story was interesting because everyone had such different ideas and sometimes clashed with each other. It was fun to pick characters and even try to get into the characters. Although at times it was frustrating in the end it was fun and fulfilling.

Then when it came time to perform I was surprisingly not as scared as many others in my group. It was as if the adrenaline made me prepared for what was to come. For a bit it was going good my group knew there lines and it was fun. A lot of times they would go off script but it was still fun the audience still enjoyed it and to me that what really mattered.

Even though we didn't win anything it was still a fun experience. I still got a chance to act and I liked it. Our story was fun to create even if it was lost in the field of improvising. Everything was so fun and interesting and I would definitely do it again.

  16. My favorite theatre experience was fable fest. Our group had a hard time staying on top of everything and getting a clear story for our play. Although we had troubles it was a lot of fun to be apart of.

The first day we started preparing for fable fest I had believed that this was not going to be a lot of fun. The main reason was because we had to create our own play. The first week we barely had anything and we all tried putting out ideas but nothing was sticking. Once we had a basic idea we had to get the storyline down and once again it was difficult. Although it was definitely the hardest part of fable fest I actually had a lot of fun trying to come up with ideas and I feel this has given me more confidence in saying what I'm thinking.

The day of the performance I was nervous the whole day. When we got to the school we had tried to find each other and we were missing one person. We were stressed beyond belief that he was not hear yet but thankfully he showed up and everything was fine. We sat down and watched all the other plays and it was so exciting watching everyone perform and it helped with all our nerves.

Once it came to our performance I was so nervous I felt my heart was going to jump out but I knew I had to get through it and that I would come out on the other side better. Before the performance my group was missing some lines and I was so scared that we would forget them on stage but surprisingly we actually remembered most of them and the ones we did forget someone was able to improvise and saved that moment.

After the show I was so happy that we were able to finish and that everything was good. Although we didn't win anything, I'm happy that I was able to experience that because I believe it has helped me so much. Before fable fest I would never share my ideas because I was nervous about it not being good and I also didn't like to raise my voice so I was always more quiet. After Fable Fest I am okay with speaking louder and not afraid of people hearing what I think. So far I believe this is my favorite experience ever.

  17. I've always had fun in theatre. Even when I'm learning from my mistakes. But, I've always enjoyed getting used to the feeling of having the spot light. Even when it's for a short amount of time. But learning how to do it was just as much fun.

That being said, my favorite theatre experience would have to be during the beginning of my freshmen year.

Especially for those who need it.

  18. My most memorable experience in theatre is when I was backstage for a high school play my brother and sister were in. It was at Fort Campbell high school 2017. The plays name was Xanadu.
What I did backstage was helping set up the background and help the cast put on their costumes. I was also able to go to some of the practices which allowed me to see how a play develops from beginning to end. I was also able to shadow the tech department to learn how the sound effects work.
My sister introduced me to the drama teacher Mr. Torres. The people I got to hangout with were Zach, Bailey, Kiana, Destiny, Justine and other high school students. What made it more fun was the fact that I got to hangout with kids my age who also helped backstage.

  19. my favorite theater experience was when i participated in the lip sync show. the lip sync show really helped me not be shy in front of a big crowed and to show your inner self and just be yourself its okay if you mess up just keep going with the flow if you mess up its okay because thats what theater is about messing up until eventually you get it down by practing and and working with your peers.

my experience during the lip sync was actually pretty fun i had fun with my friends and peers such as tyriq he is in collage now natile shamiyah and faylen we all had diffrent rolls using the song i want you back by the jackson 5 i was a fat boy who loved food and i got my food took by a girl who liked me which was tyriq and i wasnt paying nomind to her so he took my food and his friends shamiyah and faylen tagged along and picked on me and took my food and i figured out ways to get my food back and tried to flirt back with the girl to get my actual true love back which was my food it was a very funny experince .

we had a good time i just wish we took time to practice a little more and at least put in more effort but that was my first lypc sync as a freshman i know i could have done way better than what i did my whole team in general i feel like if we did we could have probably have won first place if we have been more creative so to all those upcoming freshman be creative take your time and practice and project your voice make sure you do because you will hear it everyday until you do it also its okay to mess up you have so much time to get better and profect acting.
