  1. In CrazyTown I have a handful of roles like Babs Buttlebee the news anchor, Sophia a moderator, P.A. Announcer and Shelly. For me that is four more than I have had in my experience. I am excited and ready for the challenge that will come.

Three out of the four roles are dialogue concentrated so memorization is a key challenge. Each one of the characters are drastically different ranging from a 5th grader to a news anchor and everything in between. I know that I need to work on my characterization and run through my lines when I can.

The scene that I like the most is No More, Mister Nice Guy ironically a scene that I do not have lines in. I love this scene for a slew of reasons. It's one of the scenes that everything is opposite. A cop catching a "good" guy instead of the "bad" guy. I feel that the audience would enjoy the irony in the scene.

    1. I like how your characters are coming to life, especially because it is your first major production you are acting in.

  2. The biggest challenge is definitely characterizing 5-6 different character. For example I go from getting mauled by a dog, to the nicest guy in town. My favorite role is probably Tom in the last scene.

Working together is great we all get along well, which makes the process of learning the lines and adding characterization easier.

With the help of all of you this will be a great production, we all are very coherent, and also very good as individuals

    1. I agree with the characterizing different characters. That is something that I was worried about at first. But I feel that the end product everything will work out and we will be proud of it.

  3. In Crazytown, I play a good handful of characters. Some, of course, are a lot bigger than others. Thus, certain challenges arise when you have that more than 3 characters in a play.

One of the challenges is memory. Having to memorize multiple characters of one play, and a competition piece is a bit...difficult. Not impossible. Just difficult. With motivation, you'd be surprised by how much you can do. I was able to memorize a piece in 3 days. If I shift my focus to the piece then I would have more time to memorize the script.

Out of all of the characters, the cop is my favorite. I've always wanted to do something like this, and then this play plopped on our laps with the interrogation room as an opening scene. Plus, I recently watched a similar scene on SNL. Now, I can't wait to bring this play together.

  4. In Crazy Town I play several different characters in several different scenes. Of all the characters I play my favorite would have to be Merv the sports caster. I am having alot of fun intensely describing two men sitting on a couch quietly. There is alot of room for every single character in this play, as long as you're over the top and outside of the box then you'll fit right in, in crazy town

    1. Yeah, I like you as Merv too. You have a great narrator voice that fits well with Jim and Merv.
