I will be competing in Storytelling and my piece will be The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg.
A successful experience to me would be performing in front of others again in an area that I have never been in and learning from that. Also if I could relatively high scores on my piece would be great as well.
I will be competing in Storytelling with a piece called The Shoes that Dance to Pieces by Brothers Grimm.
To me a successful performance looks like having all of your lines memorized and always being in character. I really don't care if I break or not. I a going to make sure that I actually go over my piece instead of putting it off until it gets close to the competition. I would like to break or at least get a higher score then I did at the last competition.
I will be competing in poetry and I've decided on the piece A Price Paid by Janae Boswell
A successful Experience to me would be going to this competition with a piece and a category I've never done, granted this is my second competition, but making it a great one.
Last competition I preformed in Poetry this next competition I will be preforming in Storytelling. The piece I will be doing is Rumpelstiltskin by Brothers Grimm.
A successful experience for me would to just learn from my experiences last competition. Do what I didn't do or do better what I did do. I would like to place higher then what I did last competition, or at least around what I did because I was the first to place higher then anyone has from our school in Poetry.
I will be competing in Storytelling with a piece called Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin.
In my opinion, a successful experience would be to be prepared enough to feel confident in an area I've never competed in before and actually enjoy myself this time. Last time, I was not confident in my piece and did not have fun with it. I did poetry because it sounded easy. This time, I am doing storytelling and I have more time to prepare so I believe I can be successful in having fun and feeling more confident.
I will be competing in Humorous Interpretation with a piece called " The Wedding" by Julianne Homokay.
A successful experience is picking up notes and experiences from others. My plan for the competition is to gain knowledge and more character from others to make my piece better. Also, having my piece memorized will give me more confidence in performing.
