  1. I definitely improved in using the screwdrivers and the chop saw. I was very nervous to use it the first couple times, and I hesitated to continue to use it but as of now I feel that I can cut as many pieces as a project desires. Using the screwdrivers was a little hard for me because i'm not a very strong in my arms so it was a little hard for me to get the screws all the way in because I wasn't pushing hard enough. An area in theatre production I would like to improve in getting things done faster. I want to get things done in 20 minutes instead of 45 to an hour. Overall, I'd say I still have enough time to grow in certain areas and even more. Along with that, I'm excited to learn more in this class, and i'm excited for this new year. I'm confident to say that this is gonna be a great year. I can feel it!

    1. I agree with you about improving with the chop saw. I feel like every time i use the chop saw it just increases how safe i feel around it to just cut wood.

    2. I agree with you I was also scared to use the chop saw and the drills as well, but I'm more better at it now.

  2. I believe that i've improved frome being a small sophomore acting like a freshman to acting like a sophomore that still acts like a freshman aftet his work done.
At the start of the year I was just a regular due that didn't know how to do anything except for doing a simple play and screw some screws in some wood, but now i can be told to build a whole set of stairs and nnot have any problems with it. I also learned that the pilot makes things much easy for you instead of breaking the wood not piloting the wood. Communication is another thing I learned. You have to tell people whats happening around you, if you need help, or as simple as knowing how your day was.
The past year i've accomplished more things frome this class than i ever wood of if i've never would have taken this class. Thats for sure.

    1. I agree with the piloting it, it makes life much easier. Communication is also a good thing to bring up because people often don't like to ask and talk to each other letting each other know what's going on or what you need help with.

    2. I'm glad you mentioned communication because I struggled with that throughout the semester.

  4. One thing i feel that i improved on is learning how to screw in screws with a screw driver and cut wood, when i fist watched someone chop wood with the chop saw, i was shook because it looked hard and very difficult . When i learned how to do it, i was happy because it wasn't as hard as i was making it.

Another thing i feel i improved on, is my O.C.D and learning how to use it. Now i am learning how to always clean thing up and put thing back the way they were and just everybody working as a team and to better ourselves in our every day life.

A Theater production i would like to improve in is all of it. I would like to get better in all of it, because i wanna be prepared if i was to ever have to deal with something in theater productions.

    1. I agree with you about O.C.D, i feel like keeping the theater clean will help us work and find things a lot easier than having things disorganized and things everywhere on the floor which makes safety hazards.

  6. Two areas that I have improved in the fall semester are drilling in the screws and learning how to be better at using the chop saw. When I first started drilling at the beginning of August I wasn't that good at it. I felt that I wasn't strong enough to push the screws into the lumber. But the more I kept doing the more I was learning that it wasn't because I wasn't strong enough it was because I wasn't pushing it hard enough and turning the drill so that the screw would go in straight. And towards the end of the semester I felt a little bit more confident that I could drill in the screws I just have be better at pushing myself to be better at it.

Another area that I've really improved at is using the chopsaw. At the beginning I was really scared to use it because I thought that if I was terrible at using it that I wouldn't be able to get over my fear of using it . But the more I started using it the less I started to be afraid of it. Towards the end of the semester I got better at it. I can't use it fast, it takes me a few minutes but at least I can use it without being afraid of the chop saw.

An area I would like to improve in is learning how to be better at marking the lumber. I get confused on the measurements a lot that I need help from a friend sometimes. I would like to be better at marking that I wouldn't need anyone's help I can do it myself.I hope that the more I do it the better I'll get at doing it.

  7. This semester I improved on using the chop saw and working efficiently. At the beginning of the semester I was very nervous when using the saw and avoided it at all costs. Now I can comfortable use the saw to complete my tasks. Once I got comfortable using the machine the building process was easier. At the beginning of the semester I would stand in the background most of the time because I thought everyone else would do it for me. However I realized getting involved gets you more on hand experience and the projects were finished much faster if everyone was working hard. When working in small groups to build a set at the end of the semester, we were unable to finish our projects however we used teamwork and understood what we were doing in the end. WIth independent projects such as our midterm exam I was able to finish In the time given

  8. During the fall semester I improved in making accurate drawings to base a project off of. At the beginning of the semester I didn't know how to draw a plan until Coach Silvers showed the class an example. Then when we had to draw a plan for our culminating project I made slight mistakes such as where to place some supporting studs, but now I am confident that I wouldn't make those mistakes and that I could complete a accurate drawing.

During the fall semester I also struggled improved on understanding troubleshooting and how to better preform it.At first I would often ask for help if I was struggling to find a solution to a problem without thoroughly looking for an answer. Throughout the course of the semester there was trouble finding misplaced things or trying to figure out why certain things weren't functioning as usual. During these situations I would ask fro help from my peers or Coach Silvers, but now I work harder to understand the problem and seek out a solution.

During this semester I would like to improve on putting in more time to projects and learning new skills on the light board. I will do that by staying after school and asking for help from people who are experienced with the light board.

  9. The thing I have improved on over the fall semester is my drilling and organization skills. For instance, if a screw stops going into the wood, you must re position the drill. on the other hand it’s easier to organize at the beginning than later in the future. For example, when we took apart the decks that we wasn’t using anymore we didn’t organize the wood. So the next day we came back into the theater and it was a big mess and had to reorganize it.

I started off as a quiet guy that really didn’t care about others, and regretted taking theater again. However, I didn’t want to drop out the class because i didn’t want to seem I wasn’t up for the challenge. I am thankful that i didn’t because this class made me a better person. The class made me take responsibilities, and made me get out my comfort zone. I like how silver's is always telling the truth and how he makes us realize how much we screwed up.

The thing i want to improve on this semester is to work on my lighting skills. I haven't been up to the both and fiddled with the light board in a long time, and i don’t remember much. I would like to learn about how it works and learn how to use the cue. The other thing i want to be better at is to be more productive while i have nothing to do.
