What Individual Event are you planning to perform in at the next tournament?

I am going to be competing in Storytelling for the next tournament.
I plan to do The Polar Express as my individual piece.
I chose this piece because it a childhood book that I read and it has some personal meaning with the piece.
Some challenges that I might face is finding time. I am doubling with Lane. Even though we know that piece we still need to work on it and polish it up.
I am planning to do poetry in the next competition. The piece I am leaning towards is The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe. I have chosen this piece because of it's dark connotation. The Edgar Allen Poe was a known opiate addict and this piece was writing when he was mourning the loss of his wife. The biggest challenge for this piece is being trying to convey the message. Most judges won't be able to listen closely enough to the beauty of the words and their sad backround. If I cannot do Poetry I would also like to do prose and do a collection of Franz Kafka Parables.
I am planning on performing in either HI or storytelling, and in pros. I am still looking for a kids book to use in HI or storytelling, but I already have one for pros. It's called Among the Hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix. I'm always looking around for a good piece to write about, but those are hard to come by.
I chose Among the Hidden, because it has a really great plot that I think the audience would enjoy. Especially, since you could relate to the some of the obstacles he has in his life. Like, overbearing parents or strict rules.
The only challenge I have is trying to format it perfectly. Everyone else wants to just search it up on the internet, but I like to write mine from scratch. That's the only challenge I can see from this.

DeleteI think that Among the Hidden is a great piece for you to do. I feel that you will be able to pull it off if you start early.
